Podium redevelopment

Awards and Honours

2015 - BOMA Canada Awards : 2020 Robert-Bourassa, Renovated Building

Interchanging the above-ground parking floors with office space allowed the podium's appearance to be renewed and the circulation to be reorganized to make it a point of connection with its environment.

DMA's mandate was for full architectural services including the feasibility study and sketch in the summer of 2011 and the start of the development of plans and specifications for the project in accelerated mode in September 2012 for provisional delivery in December 2014.
The redevelopment of six levels of the office tower follows the strategy of the enhancement of second and third storeys by moving to the basement parking floors that were there, instead of vacant commercial premises and turn these stories into new office space.
The main impact of the building’s redevelopment consisted in the complete replacement of the opaque architectural envelope of the podium, once intended to conceal the presence of parking, by a glazed envelope for these stories to benefit from the maximum natural light for the office spaces.
