Maison Simon-Fraser restoration

The restoration of the roof "à la canadienne" marks the preservation of this heritage house.

Simon Fraser House, a French-inspired residence built between 1790 and 1810 with three floors, is located in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. It is classified as a heritage building by the Ministry of Culture and Communications.

The proximity of the Galipeault Bridge, saline residues from road maintenance, weather cycles and numerous infiltrations over time have caused extensive damage to the building envelope, but especially to the roof.

We carried out detailed inspections to inform the restoration of the roof and the two porches.

Three levels of roofing had to be removed (sheet metal, cedar and asphalt roofs) before the restoration of the "Canadian-style" roof and the consolidation of the structure could begin.
